Maybe you’re tired of Pitchfork’s hot-cold treatment of the bands it loves until everyone else does; maybe you’re exhausted by Tiny Mixtapes’ near-absurdity. Maybe you wish Coke Machine Glow would update more frequently, that Delusions of Adequacy covered more bands you liked, that Dusted covered more bands you’ve heard of, that Brainwashed cared a little less about noise, or that Stylus’ website wasn’t so dense with information.
Maybe you haven’t been to all of those sites yet. Maybe you should try them all and see what fits you. Meanwhile, here’s another one, a new one: Urban Pollution. I believe it just launched this week, and to my eyes it looks pretty good. Lots of music news and lots of reviews (though it’s got a little of the Stylus illness in its layout.)
Actually, I came to this site because some fellow music nerds told me about it, but at first glance Urban Pollution looks to be really strong on numerous fronts. It has equally loaded pages dedicated to news and reviews in literature, art, and film—it’s like a little empire! I’ve bookmarked it and will be checking in daily.
